Efficiency of prophylactic antibiotic coverage prior dental implant surgery

Purpose of the present study was to determine whether antibiotic prophylaxis is an effective and popular treatment aid in conjunction with oral implant placement healthy patients. Observational cross-sectional conducted based on a web-survey reported according STROBE guidelines. A questionnaire sent via email each participant. It contained close-ended some open-ended questions concerning demographics, type, prescription duration dosage which analysed statistically using SPSS 25.0. Approximately 84% routinely prescribed prophylactic antibiotics surgery, 15.6% certain situations only 1 did not prescribe at all. Overall, 116 respondents both pre- postoperative antibiotics, 29 preoperatively 14 exclusively after surgery. High range regimens they are adhering new science-based specifications. Guidelines focused indications for among patients required prevent bacterial resistance, side effects costs caused by overtreatment irrational use antibiotics.
